OZONE FOR FRUIT

Scientific Methods on New N.Z. Cargo Boat

LONDON, September 16,

The “Telegraph” says: “Science is closely allied with industry in the New Zealand Steam Ship Co.’s 12,000-ton refrigerating ship which is to be launched, at Clydebank on September 17. “Ozone will be used to maintain the freshness of the fruit and meat cargoes, for which there are over 300,000 cubic feet. Sea air will be passed hourly through the freezing chambers and the gases breathed out by the pears and apples will be blown away, thus maintaining the purity of the air.
