MINERS’ STRIKE
Men Refuse to Come to the Surface DISPUTE OVER WAGES (By Telegraph—Frees Assn.—Copyright.) (Received 3, 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 2. “We will stay below till Christmas dinner, if necessary,” say C 3 miners of the Feruhill colliery, Glamorgan, who have been striking underground for over five days. 'They pass the time playing cards and holding concerts and mock trials. One miner was brought up ill, and another because his wife was ill. The dispute concerns the wages of a dozen men. The manager states that there will be no discussion until the miners come to the surface. A thousand other employees are striking in sympathy.
