Poukawa Lake

(To the Editor.) Sir, —Certain settlers of I’ukahu and Paki Paki may wonder why their properties are under flood this morning. The reason for this deplorable state of affairs is tho overflow from the Poukawa lake. The draining of this lake without making provision for the water to get away is “over the fence.” Just fancy swamping valuable land for somebody to gain a few acres o! reclaimed swamp.—Yours etc. A SUFFERER. Hastings, June 17, 1936.
