CYCLE ROAD RACING
Fine New Trophies Two very fine trophies have been presented to the Greendale Cycling Club for competition in road racing, a form of sport for which the Greendale club caters especially, and in which it has been instrumental in bringing out several very promising young riders. The chief prize is a handsome silver cup, styled the Roxburgh Cup, which is to provide the principal prize lor a 35-mile race to be contested on Saturday, June 27, over a course from Taradale, via Fernhill. Stortford Lodge thence to Pakowhai, 'Taradale and finally three laps over the club’s five mile course to finish at Taradale. The race is to start at 2.15 p.m. A Roxburgh Cup trophy will be donated for competition each season in tho future. They have also been responsible lor a donation of a gold medal from Messrs. Hope Gibbons, Ltd., of Wellington, and which will be competed for at a later date. The Roxburgh Cup is at present on view in Napier and is exciting keen interest amongst cyclists, giving promise of a big field to contest its ownership.
