ROSENBLOOM’S EASY WIN
First Fight in Australia (Received 9, 9.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, June 8. Max Rosenbloom (12.13), former light-heavy champion of the world, had his first fight in Australia to-night at the Sydney Stadium when he stopped the American, George Simpson (12.12) who was making his debut, in tho third round. Simpson was handicapped with a damaged ankle, sustained on Saturday, and he entered tho ring with the limb heavily bandaged. Rosenbloom is a rugged fighter and puts terrific power behind his blows. He toyed with his opponent for two rounds, then brought down his man with a terrific right chop to tho jaw. Simpson went down for eight. He tried to rise, but was in obvious pain from his leg. The referee stopped tho contest and crowned Rosenbloom. Tho attendance was only moderate, and nothing like what was expected.
