MOTOR-BODY BUILDING
Growing Industry in New Zealand (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 9. The report of the executive of the New Zealand Coach and Motor Body Builders’ Association of Employers, presented at tho annual meeting today, says; "It is gratifying to advise that there is a marked increase in the demand for coach and motor vehicles, and this in turn has increased tho demand for competent tradesmen.’’ Fear is expressed that a shortage of skilled labour will be experienced in future unless the conditions of employment of apprentices are made more enticing from tho employers’ standpoint. Reference is made to the high percentage of vehicles assembled in New Zealand. The report expresses tho belief that the efforts made by tho Federation have been of great importance by improving motor tariff conditions. Moving the adoption of the report, Mr I). 11. Taylor mentioned that there had been a change of Government and the federation looked forward for con sideration and protection to coach and motor-body building and assembling in New Zealand.
