Napier Club Presentations There was a splendid attendance of members of the Napier Croquet Club on Friday afternoon The first portion was devoted to cards and at its conclusion Mrs G. H. Cooke, captain, complimented the members upon the very successful season closing that day and expressed tho hope that next summer would find the members experiencing another enjoyable season on the Napier Club’s lawns. She then called on Mrs F. Daily to present the following prizes won during the year Merry-go-round (B grade)—Mrs Kilpatrick 1, Mrs Heiford 2. C grade: Mrs Liudsay 1. Second game, B grade: Mrs Heiford I. C grade; Mrs W. Fulford 1. First progressive game—Mrs Heiford 1, Mesdanies G. H. Cooke and Tierney (tie) 2. C grade: Mrs AlcNatty 1, Mrs Lindsay ». Second progressive: Mrs Kilpatrick 1, Mesdanies Heiford and Belcher (tie) 2. C grade: Mrs W. Fulford 1, Mrs McNatty 2. Beginners—Mrs W. Fulford 1, Mrs R. Spriggs 2. At the close of this portion of the proceedings Mrs Kilpatrick then presented Airs G, H. Cooke (captain) with a crystal powder box and spray of flowers; Airs A. Houseman (lion, secretary) crystal rose bowl and spray of flowers; Mr J. Andrews (caretaker) smoker’s outfit. Each gift was made with a neat little speech to which all the recipients returned thanks for the kindly consideration and recognition of their efforts, and wishing members a prosperous season in the next summer. A bountiful afternoon tea was much enjoyed, particularly by the members of the Napier Bowling Club engaged in top-dressing and levelling the bowling green.
