MAU ON PARADE

Ten Boat-Loads Land at Apia APIA, May 3. Ten large fautasi (rowing boats) containing 350 men and flying Mau flags, appeared off Apia Harbour on Friday afternoon, later landing on the beach toad between the Mulivai and Vaisigano rivers. A Mau malaga from Savai, headed by Autagavai, a notorious chief of Palauli, stated that they intended to parade publicly through Apia. Ou Saturday they paraded from Tauese to Vaimoso with bands and 'Mau flags and held the ceremony of the presentation of foods to the Mau Central Committee, now assembled at Vaimoso. Since the middle of April malaga parties have been arriving at Midifanua from Savaii, camping in the villages between there and Apia. It was their intention to reach Apia on Anzac Day and parade with brass bands aud Mau flags and wear the Mau uniform, but the weather delayed them. There has been no disorderly conduct and no police action lias been taken.
