Broadcast Politics
(To the Editor). Sir, —Not being a politician, but just an ordinary person with a vote and a wireless set, I feel I have a grievance towards the present Government, who (upon certain evenings) have deprived me of the enjoyment of my radio programme, and inflicted upon me the doubtful benefit of their oratory. We are charged a registration fee and provided with a printed programme each day, and on certain evenings have to listen to Parliamentary debates from 8 p.m. to .10.30 p-rn. instead of the usual music, and these debates monopolise all four of the chief stations, and from which wo cannot escape these inflictions. Would the Labour Government grant us a bonus, as wc feel we have suffered hardship by being deprived of our uccustotveil music which is supposed Io soothe our savage breast? —Yours, etc.. WIRELESS:. Havelock N., May 2, 1936.
