1000-MILE MOTOR RALLY

One Car Once Under Sea (By Air Mail.) LONDON, March 2u. More than 300 drivers, including 37 women, yesterday began a two-day 1000-mile drive around Britain m the R.A.C. annual rally to Torquay. They started from controls, at London, Glasgow’, Blackpool, Bristol, Buxton, Learning, and Harrogate.’ A 1922 model Bentley which for four months was at the bottom of lhe China Sea was among the 54 starters at Bristol. One competitor is aged 74 and lias been “at this game for 35 years.” The last car is due at Torquay by noon to-morrow. All must average exactly 24 m.p.h., including rest periods and calls at four controls.
