Stortford Values Firmer VERY FEW PASSED Store sheep entries met with a bright sale at Stortford Lodge to-day, when there was a general firming in values. For all useful lines there was n good inquiry and very few entries were passed. On account of Mr W. Ensor, “Waiwhare,” exceptionally well selected fat and forward wethers topped the market to sell at 215/2. The dralt was equal to any offered in the yams for some time and attracted keen competition. Severin useiul lilies oi 2-tooth wethers in good order made to 24/-. Well done woolly wether lambs were in keen demand to mako to 20/1. Among the breeding ewes was a good offering of Eugiisu Leicester cross in splendid order, making an attractive line ot wellwoolled sheep. The offering included entries from tho VVairoa district and Whararatu which were good sales for high-country sheep. The following values were offered for selected entries:— On account of Mr W. Ensor, “Waiwhare,” a well selected lino of 352 large framed lat and forward wethers weii woolled and hardy coustitutioneu met with well-spread competition to sell at 26/2. From the same source another fine entry of 250 similar typed wethers, some slightly smaller than jn the previous pen but quite line in the wool, being another attractive line to realise 25/1. A bid oi 23/7 secured a line of 450 2-tooth wethers quite well grown and hardy, being a useiul hold-over line. A Imo oi 150 similar typed wethers made 23/6.

A pen of 300 2-tooth wethers, well framed, including u few on the smaller side, made 23/2. Ou account of Mr. Hugh Steed, Wliararata, a lino of 181 2-tooth wethers, including a few 4-tooths, being a hardy lot and would respond readily on good pasture, 21/7. A pen of 86 ewe lambs lorried down off hard country in the Wairoa district, very mixed in the wool and in light store order, made 16/-. A line of 236 Tutira med. woolly lambs, well grown and in good store order, made 19/-. Un account of Mr. T. Simcox, Pukotitiri, a dralt of 215 4 and 6-tooth wethers, well framed and sturdy constitutioned, carrying a good slipe, made 24/1.

A draft of 224 English Leicestercross breeding ewes, running with two English Leicester rams, well framed, carrying a good length of wool and in forward store order, sold in two lots al 27/10 and 24/-. Ou account of Mr. Bovin Williams, Tuki Tuki, a pen of 65 well woolled white-faced wether lambs made 2U/1.

A pen of 190 white-faced ewe lambs rather uneven in size but sturdy were passed at 21/9. A line of 285 woolly white-faced wether lambs, well grown and in very forward order, including several quite well finished, were passed at 19/4. A line of 175 black-faced woolly wether lambs in good order, from W airoa, made 16/7. A draft of 160 white-faced woolly well-grown wether lambs in good store order made 17/1.

A pen of 164 black-faced woolly nicely-grown wether lambs made 17/10. A line of 114 Romney-English Leicester well-framed mixed-aged breeding ewes in splendid store condition, being an attractive Hue uf well-woolled sheep, made 24/-.
