EXPRESS TRAIN DELAYED

Engine trouble delayed the northbound Wellington-Napier express over 90 minutes last evening. The trouble started shortly after leaving Dannevirke, the engine starting and stopping on account nJ a faulty steam system.

Eventually the engine of the goods train following the. express was used to convey the mail train to Napier and tnp. “crock” was attached to the goods train. This latter arrived at Napier nearly two hours behind schedule, and in consequence the special fruit train was delayed, though only for about 20 minutes. ,
