ANZAC MEMORIAL
Service at Taradale
The Anzac memorial service at Taradale will take place at the Town Hall on Saturday next at 10.30 a.m. The Napier Technical College Band has again kindly consented to be in attendance to lead the procession, accompany the hymns, and play several numbers. The returned soldiers, Boy Scouts, Girl Guides, and school children will also parade and take part in the proceedings. The devotional part will be conducted by Revs. J. Cumming, H, J. Odell and Canon A. Hodge. Two unison songs will be rendered by the combined musical circles of the Taradale and Greenmeadows 1 ranches of the Women's Institute. The school children will sing the “Anzac Song.” A poem, “Graves of Gallipoli,” will be recited.
Immediately after the conclusion of the service at the hall a procession led bv the band will move to the Soldiers’ Memorial, where a returned soldier will place a wreath, the “Last Post” will be sounded, followed by the laying of wreaths by the Town Board, Memorial Committee, school teachers and children, Taradale Women’s Institute, Greenmeadows’ Women’s Institute, relatives and friends Then follows the Reveille, the Benediction and the National Anthem. A cordial invitation is extended to the whole district. During the proceedings at the hall the Boy Scouts and Giri Guides will take up the collection, which is in aid of the memorial fund.
