POPPY DAY IN HASTINGS
Women Helpers Meet ARRANGEMENTS FOR SALES Arrangements have been set in. train for the sale of poppies on the day before Anzac Day in rooms kindly lent by the Women’s Community Club. Members of the Hastings R.8.A., and women desirous of helping in this good work, met yesterday afternoon to discuss ways and means for the distribution and sale of the emblem. Districts were set aside for those women volunteers who have coma forward, and these names will ba published later so that, should any other woman desire to assist, she may get in touch with those in charge of any one specific area to be covered. Young women who would cars to assist in the street sale of poppies on Friday, April 24, are requested to send in their names to the U.S.A. secretary, Karamu road, stating the time at which they would be available to sell on that date. It will be of interest to many to learn that Hastings was eleventh on the list for the largest sales in the Dominion last Poppy Day,
