RUGBY REFEREES
Hastings Association MEMBERSHIP REACHES 24 The annual meeting of the Hastings Rugby Referees’ Association was held last evening, Mr A. Kirkpatrick presiding over an excellent attendance. The activities of last season were briefly reviewed by the chairman, who congratulated member* on their efficiency and excellent service to th* sport. He trusted that the coming season would prove even more successful and enjoyable than the last. The election of officer* resulted a* follows: —Patron, Mr G. A. Maddison; president, Mr A. Kirkpatrick; vicepresident*, Messrs J. uyons B. E. Hunt, 11. M. McCormick, L. McLean, J, W. Talbot and W. Thurlow; secretary and treasurer, Mr J. Geenty; chairman of executive, Mr J. Scott; appointment committee, Messrs D. Graham, J. Geenty and L. Andrew*; delegate to annual meeting of the Hustings sub-union, Mr H. G. Apperley; examiners, Mcssr* J. Scott (theory and practical) and A. Kirkpatrick (.practical). The question of sending a delegate to the annual conference of New Zealand referee* to be held at New Plymouth during Easter wa* discussed, the members being of the opinion that it would be in the interests of the game in this dostrict for the association to be represented at such an important gathering. It was decided that the matter be placed before the management committee of the sub-union with an application for assistance. Three new members were elected, bringing the total active membership to 24.
