DAMAGED TANKER

Transfer of Cargo (Received 17, 10.30 a.m.) BRISBANE, March 17. The work of transferring the oil cargo from the damaged tanker Vardaas, which struck a reef off the Queensland coast, to tho tanker Scalira by means of connecting pipes is proceeding satisfactorily. An examination of the hull of the Vardaas revealed extensive damage.
