LIQUOR AFTER HOURS
Charges arising out of the sale of liquor after hours were heard before Mr J. Miller, S.M., in the Napier Magistrate’s Court this morning, when three men, Frank McManus, John Gillies and John Campbell, were each fined £2 with 10/- costs, tor being on licensed premises after hours. Three charges against Nicholas Augustus Mathieson, hotelkeeper, of Port Ahuriri, were also taken. A difficulty arising was that the liquor was not sold, but was a gift. The only offence was a technical one of opening the bar. A fine of £3 and 10/- costs was imposed. The other two charges were withdrawn by the police
