Youth Found Not Guilty

By Telegraph—Press Association DUNEDIN, Oct. 23. The trial of John Haig Roebuck, aged 16, on a charge of attempting to murder Mrs Henderson, at Tapui, North Otago, was concluded to-day in the Supreme Court before Mr Justice Kennedy. He also faced alternative charges of ■wounding Mrs Henderson with intent to do her grievous bodily harm, and assaulting her so as to cause her actual bodily harm. After a retirement of 40 minutes, the jury returned a verdiet of not guilty on the grounds of insanity. The prisoner was ordered to bo detained in strict custody at Paparoa prison until the pleasure of the Minister of Justice is known.
