RIFLE CLUB DANCE
From Our Own Correspondent. KERERU. Sept. 14. The annual dance of the Poporangi Rifle Club, which was held in the Kereru Hall, was one of the brightest and best of these exceedingly enjoyable dances. There was a large attendance, visitors coming from not only the immodiately surrounding districts, but from Napier and Hastings. It was one of those pleasantly social gatherings in which riflemen show themselves to be particularly adept in organising. However, the hard working Rifle Club committee were ably assisted by a special ladies’ committee, perhaps even more hard working, and to all of these great credit is due for the very successful evening. The hall was artistically decorated with gold and blue streamers and greenery.' The supper was a special feature and well deserved the encomiums passed upon it. Excellent music was supplied by Les Henry’s Orchestra. A waltzing competition, judged by Mr Les Henry, was won by Miss D. Simmons and Mr Ferguson. Extras were played by Mrs P. Walker and Miss Daphne Simmons. Among those present were: Mesdames W. Johnson L. R. Averill, C. G. Averill, M. P. Averill, Ferguson, W. Harper, Moorcock. R. Brimer, I. A. Simmons, Handcock, P.
