STAFF CHANGES

Napier & Hastings Hospitals

Staff changes as under were reported to the Hawke’s Bay Hospital Board yesterday by the matron, Miss L. M. Croft, who also acknowledges with thanks gifts from various donors:— Napier Hospital:—The following members of the staff were on annual leave: Sister Thompson, Staff-Nurse T. J. White, and Nurse Edgeley. StaffNurse Watson resigned in view of her approaching marriage, and Staff-Nurse Boyle was appointed to the vacancy. Nurse B. Burnley terminated her training on August 31. The following pupil-nurses commenced the trial period of training on August 8: Nurses B. Cartwright, E. M. Highet, J. Kilpatrick, M. E. Priest, E. M. Pritchard, and R. G. Peroie-Wright. About the middle of the month there were minor sicknesses among several members of the staff, but fortunately all are well again, and there are no nurses off sick at the present time. 1 have to acknowledge with thanks gifts received from tho following: Books for children’s ward, Valerie Grey; flowers, Mrs T. H. Lowry, Townswomen’s Guild, Miss M. Spriggs, Mr F. Ormond. W» are also indebted to Madame Mercer for bringing her senior and junior choir to the hospital on the evening of August 5, and giving a most delightful concert in Coleman and Margaret wards.

Hastings Hospital :—Of the Hastings Hospital staff, Sister J. O’Leary commenced duty on August 10. StaffNurse Hayward was on annual leave, and while away Became ill and was admitted to a private hospital in Nelson. Nurses Rush and Amner were off duty sick for a short period. The following commenced as hospital aids: Misses Amner, Riddell, and Godfrey. Hospital Aid Nurse Hutton resigned on August 18. in order to accept an appointment for training at the Wellington Hospital. 1 wish to acknowledge with thanks the following gifts received at the Hastings Hospital: Old linen, Mrs Krogh; Magazines, Fruitgrowers’ Association.
