THE M.C.C. MATCH

A recent appeal by the Hawkes Bay Cricket Association for funds to fulfil the requisite £125 guarantee in connection with the Hawke’s Bay-M.C.C. match in February/ 1936, has received most encouraging support. Mr R. M. Chadwick, chairman of tho association management committee, told delegates at -the annual meeting at Napier last night that so far the response was very good. He added, “We have been asked to find a guarantee of £125, but wo shall need at least an extra £25 for expenses. Wo now have £lOO in sight. At first the team that is to come from England was thought to be a mediocre combination, but an investigation of tho records of flic players shows that they are all Test players, or -are knocking at the door of Test honours.’’
