Hastings Magistrate’s Court * STOLEN ARTICLES DISPLAYED The Huttings Magistrate's Court had the appearance of a second-hand shop this morning, when articles alleged to have bean stolen from various establishment* by two young men, who were charged to-day, were displayed. Three-quarters of the law bench** were occupied with the goods, also part of the Press table and floor. The collection was as varied as it wa s large and ranged from a »urveyor’s theodolite to an eiderdown. There were half a dozen rifles, slings, a Mills bomb (dummy), ammunition, binoculars, vases, glass, bras* and silver ware, leather suitcases, a large telescope, a set of bagpipes, tripod, picture frames, a pigeon trap, * telephone, a quilt, an eiderdown, boxes, and various other articles. Counsel for accused had to be content with a cramped space during the hearing of the charges, and one of the lawyers voiced his disapproval in strong terms when he first saw tho “junk,” as it appeared to be, and noticed the small space allowed the legal profession.
