TE MATA PEAK
Question of Completing Road Consideration of the completion of the road to tho Te Mata peak, Havelock North, was given by members of the Te Mata Trust Board at the annual general meeting held yesterday. The board decided to ask the engineer to the Hawke’s Buy County Council to give an estimate of tho cost of finishing the roadway. The board has a fund for the work, at present amounting to £lO6 10/-. ,fudging by the present rate this fund is accumulating, however, it will be many years yet before the board will be in a position financially to carry out the completion of the work. The existing roadway is being repaired. Some damage was caused to it through slips falling into the water tables and causing the water to scour the road surface.
