TIKOKINO

W. Collins—AH Black From Our Own Correspondent. TIKOKINO, June 22. The Tikokino Football Club’s dance and euchre party was a great success in every way. The floor was in excellent order for dancing, and the music, supplied by P, Walden’s orchestra, from Hastings, much appreciated. The hall was prettily decorated with coloured streamers covering the ceiling and hanging down the side walls, with coloured lights at intervals, giving a charming effect. The dancers were keenly interested in a Monte Carlo waltz competion, which was won by Mr Ivan Fagle and partner, Mifs Ellon Eagle. The prize for another competition was an eiderdown quilt, the winner being Mrs Hudson, of Gwavas station. The other prizes for the progressive euchre competitions brought a large number of competitors to the contest, the first prize being won by Mrs Knight, of /Ongaougi, the runner-up being Mrs J

L. Brassington. Mr L. Bratsington secured the consolation prize. A very dainty supper was provided, and was enjoyed by all. SOCIAL EVENING. Another large function will be held in this township shortly, when a social evening is to be tendered to Mr W. Collins, jnr., who has been chosen to go to England with the All Blacks. The entertainment is to be given by the residents of the Tikokino district, combined with the local football club, and Tikokino Sports Club. The ladies are asked to provide the supper,—a basket will admit them at the door—and the sterner sex will be expected to pay a small entrance fee. The news of Mr W. Collins, jnr., being choeen as a member of the All Blacks team gave great pleasure to the residents of the Tikokino district, where he had long been resident with his parents, and one and all wish him the best of good luck in the coming contests in our I Homeland.
