CHRISTIAN SCIENCE

“Is the Universe, including man, evolved by atomic force?” was the subject of * the lesson-sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, yesterday. , The golden text was Rev. 4.11, “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power; for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” Among the citations which comprised the Lesson-Sermon were the following from the Bible, “By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.” “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” (Psm. 36:6, 9 Jas. 1.17). Also the following passages from the Christian Science textbook, “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures,’’ by Mary Baker Eddy. “All things are created spiritually. Mind, not matter, is the creator. Love, the divine Principle, is the Father and Mother of the universe, including man. The visible universe and material man are the poor counterfeits ot the invisible universe and spiritual man.” (pp. 256, 377).
