LODGE MEETING
Court Sir Charles, Napier
There was an excellent attendance of members at the half-yearly meeting of Court Sir Charles Napier, A.O.F.
The woodwards reported that with one exception the sick on the funds were progressing favourably, and sick pay, amounting to £56 5/8, was passed lor payment. The notice of motion appearing on the quarterly summons with reference to creating two new officers was. after some discussion, carried unanimously. Votes of condolence were passed to the relatives of the late Bro A. W. Yates, and to P.D.O.R. Bro. P. J. Bear, 011 the loss of his daughter, members standing in silence. The chief ranger welcomed P.C.R. Bro. Ferguson, of Court Concord, Hamilton, and lodge honours were accorded to the visitor. Three new members were initiated into the order by C.R. Bro. Cross, assisted by P.C.R.’s Bros. C. Dunetali and Gurney. Two nominations for membership were received for next meeting night. Nominations and election ot officers resulted as follows: C.R., Bro. K. Macartney; S.C.R., Bro. C. S. Deverell; S.S.V., Bro. C. W. Elraes; J.S.V., Bro. J. Allan; S.W., Bro. P. E. Austin; J.W., Bro. C. W. Baillie; 5.8., Bro. J. E. T. Fenn; J. 8., Bro. W. J. Bell; secretary, Bro. E. 11. Spriggs; treasurer, Bro. E. Chegwidden; minutes secretary, Bro. F. A. Foote. All the newly-elected officer® returned thanks to the court for the honour bestowed on them. Account* amounting to £202 4/- were passed for payment. After the meeting supper was served by the social committee and members indulged in a game of indoor bowls.
