Miss Kathleen M. Nunneley, who has been thirty years on the staff of the Wellington Municipal Central Library, is to retire in September. In the realm of eport Miss Nunneley probably holds a record that is unique. She was actually champion woman tennis player of New Zealand for thirteen years. So persistent was her good form that some players were half beaten before they went on to the court to meet Miss Nunneley. Her reputation grew with the years, until the unbeatable Kate Nunneley was known throughout the tennis world, and her photograph was reproduced in the English papers. The Nunneley Casket with its decor of gold medals is a trophy played for each year, and is likely to keep the ex-champion’s memory green for. a yery long time.
