The hounds will meet at Braehead plantation, to-morrow, (Wednesday) June 19.
The Matapiro annual ball will be held in the Fernhill Hall on Friday, starting at 8 p.m. Les Henry’s orchestra will play for the dance. Details are advertised.
Trainors’ and attendants’ tickets for the Napier Park Racing Club’s meeting can be obtained from Mr J. E. Gleadow at the Pacific Hotel, Hastings; to-morrow between 4 and 4.30 p.m.
The dog trials sweepstake competitions under the auspices of the N.Z. Farmers’ Union will be run on grounds in Mt. Erin road, Havelock North, kindly lent by Mr J. E. Jane, on Saturday, June 22, commencing at 9.30 a.m. There will be two classes —open and maiden. The challenge cup goes with the open event. Post entries will be received. Refreshments in charge of the Women’s Division of* the Farmers’ Union will be obtainable on the ground. Admission is free.
Novelty dances will be tho feature of the Bridge Pa Mutual Improvement Association dance which will be held in the Matariki Hall on Thursday evening next. Prizes will be awarded for these items, but no entry fee will be charged. Music will be provided by the K.J.O. jazz orchestra, and a free bus leaves Westerman’s corner at 7.45 p.m., returning after the dance. Admission will be 2/-, and a very enjoyable evening is assured.
