HARRIER RACING
Inter-Club Race To-morrow HASTINGS v. NAPIER The Hastings and Napier Harrier Clubs will compete in an inter-club contest to-morrow afternoon at 2.30, the race of 6j miles being over two laps of the Napier club’e new " championship course at Taradale. All members compete and are placed, but onlj the points gained by the first twelve men of each club count, and the result should be very close. The return contest will be held in August over the Hastings club’s course. Hastings will be represented by C. Wright (field captain), B. Andersen (vice-captain), G. Ready A. Hunt, H. Marshall, G. Spurdie, G. Warren, L. Spurdie, A. Leo, S. Coles, M. Cameron (club captain) N. Chapman (vicecaptain), W. Apperley, N. Cohen. C. Elphick, J, O’Shea, R. Cooper, L. Webb, I, Snadden, D. Robertson, D. Wright, K. Dane, A. Robertson, R. Poppelwell A. Fear, M. Richards. Cars will leave the Post Office at 1.30 p.m. Next week the Hastings club’s run will be at Havelock North, and on June 29 the club championship will be decided from the racecourse.
