Unchanged for the Year BOARD ADOPTS ESTIMATES The Taradale Town Board’s rates for the current year are to be the same as for last year. At its meeting last night the board adopted a recommendation to this effect. The estimates for the ensuing year were approved as under: — Receipts.—Balance at April 1, £180; rates outstanding, £252; penalties on overdue rates, £4O; Power Board, collection accounts, £5O; heavy traffic fees, £100; sundry license fees, £200; rent park, reserves, etc., £4O; rent town hall, £140; library, sanitation, £25; refunds, £10; subsidy on rates, £150; subsidy on highways, £75; housing fees, £100; miscellaneous receipts, £3O; wages under No. 5 Scheme, £4l; general rates (2{d in the £), £1200; sanitary rates (id in the £), £114; total estimated income, £2747. Expenditure.—Wages and salaries, £1200; interest and sinkings funds, £B6; office advertising, printing, £100; lighting, £180; library, park, memorial, £9O: rebates ,audit, legal fees, £80; dog collars, rates, licenses, £l6; town hall ventilation, etc., £6O; unauthorised, £l5; plant, tools, materials, £150; main highways, £100; rent paddock, depot, reserve, £2O; insurance, fire, accident, fidelity, £45; horsefeed, shoeing, cartage, repairs, £80; grading shingle, mowing, £150; interest on bank overdraft, £Jy>; bitumen sealing, Lee, Avondale roads, £96; kerbing, Neave, Meeanee, Gloucester streets, £6B; surfacing footways, Neave, Meeanee, Gloucester streets, £25; resurfacing 80 chains footway, £64; transfer to W.D. loan account, £6O; estimated balance at March 31, £l7; total, £2747.
