Mr Walter Kingsley, the eminent English baritone, who has been visiting Hawke's Bay during the past week, as the guest, of Mr and Mrs I Janies Collins, "Waihewi,” Otnne, has I returned to Wellington, to resume his engagements, including a further tour l tor the NZ Broadcasting Board. The condition of Mrs J. Ashby, who has been seriously ill, has improved during the past two days. Mr T. mate of a private hospital in Hastings, sufferings from complications following influenza, is making satisfactory progress towards recovery. RETURNED SOLDIERS. A meeting of the social committee of the Otane branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association was held recently. A report of the recent re-union was submitted, members expressing satisfaction. It was decided to hold the annual dance when wives and friends will be entertained in the Otane Hall on June 26. It was also resolved to solicit the help of Elsthorpe comrades, and bold a social there again this year.
