WEDDING

Renouf—Rees

The wedding was solemnised at the Sacred Heart Church, Hastings, yesterday afternoon, of Afollie Rees, daughter of Mrs, M. Gallien, Avenue road, Hasting’, and the late Mr. M. J. Race, of Melbourne, and Arthur William, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Renouf, Terrace road, Hastings. The ■ Rev. Father Stewart officiated at the ceremony.

The bride, who was given away by Mr. L. B. Langoad, wore a lovelygown of agnolia chiffon velvet, cut on classical lines, the skirt forming a pointed train at the back. A plaited velvet girdle finished the waist ana magnolia flowers trimmed the corsage in front. The beautiful embroidered net veil fell softly over the gown, being worn on the head with a halo of plaited -velvet with orange blossom at each side. She carried an arm shower of white roses carnations and fern.

Three bridesmaids attended the bride, these being Miss Margery Rees (sister of the bride), chief, Miss Jean Renouf (sister of the bridegroom), and Miss Kathleen Shaw, of Wellington. Their gowns were of golden taffeta the corsage slashed at the back and having capes of taffeta edged with frills. Rich brown velvet flowers trimmed the neckline in front and their girdles of brown velvet were tied with long hanging ends. Their smart little halo hats were of brown velvet and taffeta and they carried arm showers of golden roses and maidenhair fern. Mr. J. Renouf, bridegroom’s brother, was best man and Messrs. R. Gallien and G. Rees, brothers of the bride, were groomsmen.

Following the marriage ceremony, a reception was held at the Rialto Tea Rooms, which had been specially decorated for the occasion. The tables were decorated with goldeu Iceland poppies and the handsome bridal cake was a feature of the decorations on the bride’s table. Overhead was suspended a lucky horseshoe, of beautiful flowers to tone with the frocks of the bridal party. When leaving by car for the honeymoon, the bride looked charming in a navy and white pinhead stripe tailored costume, white blouse, navyhat, shoes and gloves.

On their return Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Renouf will make their home in Hastings. Mrs.'M. Gallien (bride’s mother) wore a smart model frock of w-ine marocain with hat to match and handsome fur coat and carried a bouquet of flame flowers and ferns. Mrs. R. Renouf (bridegroom's mother) wore a model black frock with white and silver vestee, black coatee and black hat with touches of white; bouquet of red flowers and ferns.

Mrs. J. 11. Nelson, of Waipnkurau, (grandmother of the bride) was smartly dressed in black marocain and black lace trimmings, blak hat and handsome musquash coat.
