MOTORISTS INJURED
Mishap Near Greenmeadows
A fortunate escape from serious injury was experienced yesterday by two members of the “Tribune” staff, Mr L. J. B. Hammond and Mr A. L. Waterhouse, when a car which Mr Hammond was driving went over a bank on the road near Greenmeadows. Apparently the car was forced off the road by the driver of another car which was travelling at a fast pace and in the opposite direction. Mr Hammond’s car somersaulted four times, and came to rest on its side. It was some time before the two men could extricate themselves, but fortunately they were not seriously injured. Mr Hammond was somewhat painfully cut, and Mr Waterhouse is suffering from severe bruising.
The car was not badly damaged, but had to bo towed back to Hastings by a breakdown van.
