To-day’s Waipukurau Prices Before a fair bench of buyers the weekly stock sale at Waipukurau opened with fat cattle. The offerings were nut numerous and heavy quality beef was not in evidence. In the store lines weaners were the main offering, most of which were in attractive order. An idea of the values realised may be gathered from the following:— A single Red Shorthorn bullock in fair condition sold at £6 7/6. A Hereford steer in lighter order realised £5. One cow in light order sold at £2 15/and a fat heifer brought £2 9/-. A pen of four vealers sold at 32/-.

Two Shorthorn heifers, in light order, realised £2 14/-, and one Red Poll heiter in good condition brought £4 7/6. A pen of five well-grown P.A. crossbred bullocks in light condition sold well at £4 15/-. A single Hereford runner, in good condition, sold at £2 14/-. A line of eighteen well-grown P.A. weaner heifers, in good healthy order, on account of Mr J. B. Hamilton, Argyle, sold at £2 4/-. A pen of eighteen P.A. cross empty heifers in good order ami condition brought £3 9/-, which was subject. A further line of account of Mr J. B. Hamilton of thirty weaner P.A. steers, in excellent order, realised £2 11/-, and from the same owner twenty-nine P.A. cross 18-months heifers sold at £2 17/6. A pen of 'five good quality 2-year Hereford steers in good condition sold at £4 7/6. On account of Mr J. B. Hamilton, seventeen well-grown weaner steers brought £2 16/-, Eleven weaner steers, Hereford and Hereford cross, sold at £2. In from Whakarara, a pen of five well grown forward bullocks sold at £5 8/6. Fifteen weaner Hereford cross heifers, small but in good condition, realised £1 18/-. A line of six P.A stc-.-is and four P.A. heifers realised 28/-.

A line of store cows, ten in number, and mixed in breed, sold at 23/-. A further line of twenty-four P.A. cross weaner heifers, on account of Mr J. B. Hamilton, sold at 35/-. A pen of six P.A. weaner cross heifers, in light order, realised 23/-. A pen of four Hereford cross cows, in good store order, brought £4 7/-. A pen of one heifer and three cows, Hereford cross in light order, realised £2 8/-. FAT SHEEP. Fat ewes were the main line in the fat sheep offering and sold at schedule rates; fat lambs of quality were few. An even lino of 10 black-faced fat lambs sold at 19/9 and 14 S.D. fat iambs brought 18/6. Five fat lambs sold at 18/-. Eighteen fat ewes realised 18/6. A pen of 11 black-faced fat lambs, small, sold at 17/-. Thirty-three fat ewes in light order sold at 13/8. Fifty-three black-faced fat lambs in good order brought 18/9. Sixty-eight well-grown, well-condi-tioned ewes sold at 14/4 and another line of 66 similar ewes brought 14/-. Eighteen shorn black-faced forward lambs sold at 15/11. Fifty-seven fat ewes realised 14/- and a further pen of 15 well-conditioned heavy ewes brought 14/3. A pen of 31 S.D. fat lambs sold at 15 9. A line of 50 fat wethers of good quality realised 19/9. Seventy-three black-faced fat lambs in good order brought 18/6, Thirty-three S.D. crossbred fat lambs in light order sold at 14/11. Forty well-grown large framed fat wethers in good condition brought 21/10.
