RUGBY LEAGUE

Board of Control Meets FIXTURES ARRANGED The weekly meeting of the Rugby League Board of Control was held lasi night in the League rooms, Herschcll street, Mr J. B. Wainscott presiding in the absence of the chairman, Mr G Webb. A deputation from the City and Te Awa clubs was received. Mr G. Frater intimated that negotiations for the amalgamation of the City and Te Awa clubs had been brought to a successful issue, and that a strong town team would now be available. Mr Frater also applied for the admission of a third grade team from the United club. The City combined team were granted permission to use the Te Awa colours for the junior team. Great satisfaction was expressed by boaru members at the amalgamation, which was heartily approved. Correspondence .from Petane-West-shore United Club was received and dealt with. The Taradale juniors will play the United juniors instead of winning last Saturday’s fixture bv default. Letters from Air 11. E. Nicholls, thn Te Ngarue club, and remits from the Taradale club were received. The matters were fully dealt with, and replies conveying the board’s decisions were directed to be forwarded to the clubs. Accounts totalling £4 11/10 were passed for payment. For the Town v Country match it was decided that the new City combined team, Taradale, and Petane-Westshore United constitute the Town teams, and Te Ngarue, Clive and Marama the Country teams for the purpose of selection. For the juniors, it was decided to play for Town v Country a Junioi A v. Junior B match as a curtain-rais-er. The games are to be played on League Park on June 3, when Mr W. E. Barnard, M.P., patron of the League, will officially open the park. Mr Mcßae reported on the visits paid by players representative to clubs, and many matters of importance were dealt with. The draw for Saturday is ns follows: SENIORS City Combined v. Clive, at Clive, 3 pan. Te Ngarue v. Marama, at I'ctane, 3 p.m. Taradale v. United, at Taradale, 3 p.m. JUNIORS Taradale v. Port, at Taradale, 1.45 p.m. United v. Clive, at Clive, No. 2 ground, 3 p.m. THIRD GRADE City Combined v. Clive, at Clive, 1.-15 p.m. Taradale A v. Taradale B, Mission, 2.15 p.m.
