THRILLED CHILDREN

First Visit to Big City HOPE TO SEE “A REAL LION” Wild Excitement on Train tßv Teleeranh-Press Association ) AUCKLAND, May 14. Eight children who, until yesterday, had never been south of Kaitaia, are in Auckland to-day. They come from Waiharara in Manganui county. It was only due to the initiative and enthusiasm of their schoolmaster, Mr. R. E. McNabb, that they are in the city. They started in the dark yesterday morning, stumbling five miles along a muddy road to catch the service car to Otiria. In tho train—the first they ever saw —they became wildly excited at the first tunnel, but that was only the beginning of their adventures. In the city they were thrilled by a ride in a lift, and this afternoon they hope to sec 11 A, a real picture show, a real live lion, and hope to ride in a tram for the joy of it.
