Iceted and welcomed to the Institute: Irs Cogswell, Mrs Came, Alts Ropiha, ml Mrs R. Donghi. The following pr zcs were awarded in onneetion with the show of blooms: ’oiuts prize and champion bloom, Airs 'hackeray; decorated bowl, Alics Bibby;
decorated jar, Airs Fraser. A vote of thanks was passed to the judges, Airs King, decorative classes, and Air E. Oakenfull, the flowers.
The members then joined in the singing of patriot'e songs, led by Airs Strang at the piano. Some of these were, “God Defend New Zealand,’’ “Rulo Brittauia,” “Red, 'White and Blue,” “Tipperary.” Airs Strang also sang “Land of Hope and Glory,” ae companied by Alisa Jull at the piano
The secretary was instructed to arrange with Hastings leaders for assistance with next month’s musical programme, and is also to address the gathering on budgeting.
The meeting closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
A dainty afternoon tea was provided by the hostesses for the day, Mesdaiues Turner, Fox, Strang, Edwards, Bishop, and Davy.
