CARD PARTY

On Thursday evening a most delightful card party, organised by the ladies of Haumoana, was given in aid of the Beach Improvement Society at the residence of Mrs. C. Scott. The home which was placed at the disposal of the committee could not have been excelled, the rooms being largo and made warm with huge log fires.

The games were, most enjoyable and evenly contested by a large number of players. The winners eventually were Mrs. T. A. Smith and Mr. F. Smith, the second prizes being awarded to Mrs. Lowe and Mr. G. Smith. A dainty supper was dispensed by the hostess.
