INTRUDER SHOT DEAD

Appeared to be Armed

SYDNEY, May 12.

Albert Edgar, aged 30, was found in a store adjoining Cobar Police Station by Constable Woolworth. The constable flashed a light on Edgar, who is stated to have pointed what appeared to bo a gun at Woolworth and H. Rankins, the owner of the store.

The constable, thinking the man intended to shoot, produced his gun and fired. The man leapt to his feet and ran into the street, where he collapsed and died. He was found to be unarmed, and it is believed that a black ruler found in his possession was what appeared to be a gun.
