ALSATIAN DOG POISONED

A valuable flix-years-old Alsatian dog, the property of Mr and Mrs W. H. ’jones, of George street, Napier. wa» cruelly done to death on Satur day by someone who apparently fed him with food containing poison. The poor animal died in agony. It was clever and well-trained, and the majority of the people living in the neighbourhood of George street regarded it as a friendly, sagacious dog. Unfor tunately, neither Mr nor Mrs Jones ran give the police any definite information as to who ehould he the likely person to poison it, but the police are continuing their inquiries.
