Annual General Meeting ELECTION OF OFFICERS From Our Own Correspondent. WAIPAWA, April 10. Tho annual general meeting of the Waipawa Savage Club was' held in Mr C. Harker’s office last evening, the Chief Savage Rev. W. T. Drake being in the chair. Present: Savages C. Harker, C. E. Woods, C. H. Critchley, N. J. McKay, J. Barker, F. Jull, E. W. Chisholm, F. Tickner, E, Kingston, W. M. Fraser (secretary). An apology was received from Vice Chief J. Rawlings.
The report and balance-sheet as presented by tho secretary were adopted. Correspondence was read from the Association of Kindred Clubs urging each individual club during the present season to use greater efforts in fostering tho feeling of good-fellowship among its members. The following officers were elected:— Rangatira, Savage F. Tickner; vicechiefs, Savage W. .A. Sawyer and Past Chief Savage F. L. Jull; secretary, Savage W. M. Fraser; committee, Savages E. W. Chisholm, P. Guthrie, Past Chief C. 11. Critchley, Past Chief J. Barker, Past Chief N. J. McKay and Savage E. Kingston. Ou the motion of Savages Woods and Sawyer Mr J. Scott was elected as a member of the club, and on a further motion by Past Chief C. G. Harker was appointed as accompanist for the coming season.
Savago E. J. Maher was appointed musical conductor.
The matter of appointment of a caterer was left in the hands of the secretary. It was decided that the koreros be held on alternate Fridays in the Oddfellows’ Hall, the opening korero to take place on May 31. The programme for the opening night was left in tho hands of the Past Chief, Chief elect and the secretary.
In connection with the first prize so cured by the club’s entry in the Jubi lee procession, it was resolved, on the motion of Mr Harker, seconded by Mr Tickner. that the prize money be hand ed to the owner of the bullock team Votes of thanks for services ren dered were passed to Mr S. Bott and Mr Stan O’Halloran.
It was resolved that the Rangatira’s collar be brought up to date.
Matters in connection with .th. club's bank account were left in tin Samis of the Chief and the secretary
The meeting closed with a vole of thanks to the retiring Chief.
