RUN OVER BY LORRY
Widow Instantly Killed

Shocking injuries to the head, which proved instantly fatal, were received by a widow, Mrs Jessie Addis, aged 71, when she was run over by a motortruck in the city.
Mrs Addis, who lived in Pukekohe, was visiting Auckland for tho day. The motor-truck, which emerged from lower Commerce street to cross Customs street, was driven by L. J. Munro, of Onehunga. Mrs Addis was walk'ng along Customs street in the dnecti , 'n of the railway station, and was crossing lower Commerce street when she was struck.
The accident was witnessed by a newsboy, who was on the opposite side of the street. He said that as Mrs Addis was crossing she dropped the bag she was carrying and stopped to pick it up. She was struck as she started walking again. The front part of the truck struck her, knocking her down. She fell partly beneath flic truck, and one of the two
rear wheels passed over her head, eau? ing instant death.
