EAST COAST RAILWAY

Acceptance of Terms Urged

The Mayor of Napier, Mr C. O. Morse, has wired the Acting-Prime Minister, Hon. E. A. Ransom, to impress him with the need for the Prime Minister’s acceptance of the offer by English financiers to complete the East Coast line.

Yesterday he telegraphed as follows; I strongly urge the immediate acceptance of the terms of the offer in respect to the completion of the East Coast railway. I consider that any delay is dangerous, and that the Prime Minister should be pressed.

Mr Morse is chairman of the committee for the southern end of the East Coast district, and is anxious to bring finality to the negotiations.
