Kiwi A s National Bird. Ihe choice ol the kiwi as the national bird of New Zealand was referred to by .Mr. R. A. Falla at the annual meeting of the Auckland Zoological Society. “The kiwi seems to have no special qualities to recommend it,” lie said, “ftnless they be modesty and retiring habits. It has no beauty ol lorin, colour or movement. On the other hand it lias an undoubted pedigree dating back to remote ages.”
