SHERLOCK HOLMES FILM
A film entitled “The Valley of Fear,” dealing with the private life of Sherlock Holmes, is now >n the course of production at the Twickenham Stu dies. Leslie Hiscott, who made “Ga.v Love,” another forthcoming British Dominions release, is directing “The Valley of Fear,” and the roles of Sherlock Holmes, Dr. Watson and Mrs Hudson are being played by Arthur Weutner, lan Fleming and Minnie Rayner. The famous detective is shown in retirement in Sussex, until a sensationally interesting murder case attracts his attention and he cannot resist emerging from his country retreat to solve the problem. His old friend, Professor Moriarty, will also be revived.
“Ivanhoe” is the latest of the '‘classics” to come to the screen. Twentieth Century are to film it, production starting in July. No cast lias yet been chosen. Reliance Pictures, who made “The Count of Monte Cristo,” have‘signed Merle Oberon to play in “The Last of the Mohicans.” The story was last filmed IS years ago.
