Asparagus lips make a delicious sandwich filling. Cut the bread thinly, remove all crust, and butter well. Dip the asparagus in thick mayonnaise, place on the bread slices and roll. When a cake sticks to the bottom of the tin there will be little danger of it breaking if you try this method oi getting it out. Put a wire cake cooler ou top of the cake in the tin, turn it upside down, and rub the bottom of the tin with a damp cloth. Leave for a while, and it should turn out perfectly.
