CHILDREN’S HOME

Hawke’s Bay Annual Appeal £lOOO ASKED FOR Each year the trustees of th* Hawke’s Bay Children’s Home ht’e made an appeal to the residents of Hawke’s Bay to assist them in carrying on this valuable social work a ready' response has been accorded, and it >• felt that this year will be no exception. In asking for donations totalling £lOOO. the trustees realise they are asking for a substantial sum of money, but it i> essential that sufficient funds should bo available to provide the children wit*i food, clothing and supervision. On Saturday, March 30, a collection will be made throughout the Hawke’s Bay district, and to those residents who cannot be reached by a collector an appeal ic made to forward their donations by post. The Children’s Home provided for orphaned, neglected and destitute children for the past 42 years, and any child of any denomination who is in indifferent circumstances and between tl’e ages of four and 11 years is admitted, providing a bed is available. This work from its inception has been carried an through the generous support of ti-e Hawke’s Bay people. The present financial position is most difficult; hence the more urgent nature of tffe appeal on this occasion. It waiters not how small the donations ui'iy be; every little helps, and many email sums become in the aggregate a big sura. Cheques should be made payab'e to the Hawke’s Bay Children’s Home, and forwarded to Mr H. E. Edgle, , treasurer, Church Laue (B O. Box 145;, Napier.
