flic 90th annual iseue of The Newspaper Press Directory has just appeared, and there can be little doubt that the hope ot the publishers that the work maintains the standard of its predecessors is fully realised. A wealth of information on all matters connected with newspapers and other forms of journalistic activity is contained in the book. As in former issues, a good deal of prominence has been given to facts and statistics about trade, and in this connection a number of article,< are included in the pages of the Directory, among them being one on Intcr-lmperi al trade, dealing with the export trade of the country ami its Empire markets. The mam features of the publication are, of course, a carefully compiled list of newspapers and periodicals. These are arranged geographically and topographically and classified appropriately. Other welcome features of the 1935 issue arc a refunie of the 1934 advertising business under the title "Tilings that Matter in Advertising.’’ and a similar article upon the modern newspaper world, ‘‘The Trend of the Modern Press.” Included with the Directory as a supplement is a Newspaper Map of Great Britain and Ireland which has a considerable sale apart from the hook.
