A Popular Event ENTRIES CLOSE MONDAY All lovers o! a good day's sport will be at Puketapu on Saturday next when tiie Puketapu Sports Club will hold its annual sports gathering and axemen’s carnival. A splendid programme has been arranged, including several new features. Good prizes are being offered, for which there will be the keenest competition. Competitors are reminded that entries close with the secretary, Mr F. S. Bryne, Puketapu, on Monday evening next, and all handicaps will be published once they have been declared. For those who delight in picnicking on the grounds the (Tub has arranged for an ample supply of hot water, which will be tree to all. Buses will run from Hastings and Napier. As a wind-up to the sports a dance will be held in the Puketapu Hall in the evening, for winch the services of a leading orchestra have been booked.
