Continental Record) With the assignment of two songa to Marlene Dietrich for her new picture, there was revealed recently ar interesting new phase in the etory of the international favourite. Vocal records by the star, it was revealed, are the most popular sellers in Germany and France, with sales that would havo made Enrico Caruso envious in his heyday. Miss Dietrich, during her visit to France last year, made six recordings of songs in the French language and previously had made five recordings of German folk songs. In “Carnival in Spain,’’ her current picture, under the direction of Josef von Sternberg, the star will sing two Spanish numbers written for her by Ralph Rainger, co-composcr of “Love in Bloom.”
